Connecting with our ancestors' stories, preserving their legacy
As a marketing manager, I spent a lot of time hearing business owners discuss the origin of their business, which often included ancestral stories or heirlooms, or skills passed down through the years. What I discovered when diving into those stories, most people do not dig deeper than what they're told.
For example, when I discovered the opportunity to dig into my paternal DNA, I jumped at the chance and researched for over a year, finding my ancestors connecting back to the days of Noah... I'm serious. When I say I hyperfocused, I'm not joking. There are inconsistencies, yes... but I know a lot more now than I did two years ago, and that peace has been transformative. I want that for you also. Anyone can use our interview, design or tutorial service here, but we find that people with "survivor" pasts, or difficult upbringings or intricate family trees are often left out of ancestry discussions because maybe it's not easy, or their situation is weird. I'm here to tell you that no matter how weird it is, you'll benefit from knowing the truth over lies. You don't have to hyperfocus like I did, but knowing more than your grandparents' names can be very important to discovering who you are and why you are the way you are.
I watched some youtube tutorials... but they were all technical and not "why"...? I did some podcasts, but no one really cares about "your" ancestry... no matter who you find in it. They care about their own. And that's great. So I decided to use my story, my journey on the research bus to finding my roots as a way to showcase what my design and editing team can do for our marketing company. You see, I started as a ghostwriter three decades ago and our team doesn't like to brag about our case studies when we work in niche industries where our brag could mean giving that idea to another spa... so we started different interesting channels or projects to showcase what we do, generate content and content revenue streams, create a space we can advertise our own services & that of our clients... and voila! Here we are with an ancestry application that will help you discover, define and heal from your roots. And if you want keepsakes of that process or memories, our design team can make beautiful, fun and professional looking gifts for your family or heirlooms, or even your business if that's your goal. We are here to help, inspire, and most of all-- get you to ask your grandparents questions. We can't learn from the past if we don't know what really happened...
This is legacy work with a twist: part storytelling, part research, part "wow, I didn't know Grandpa did that."
